Vision Multiplied: The early church
Monday Nov 24, 2025
Monday Nov 24, 2025
Pastor Rowe reminded us that God’s vision was never meant to stay small or local. From the moment Jesus commissioned His followers, the good news was always meant to multiply, carried outward from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth.
The early church waited on the promise of the Spirit, were filled on the day of Pentecost, and suddenly 120 believers became 3,000 in a single day. Ordinary men and women, united in prayer and filled with boldness, began declaring the wonderful works of God. Through miracles, generosity, courage, persecution, scattering, and unexpected people like Paul, the message kept multiplying. God’s good news spread rapidly, reaching those who were unlikely, unseen, and far beyond the original circle.
That same movement is what we are part of today. Laneway Church exists because generations before us carried the message forward. And now we share in that mission, seeing lives changed in Bathurst, Blayney, Oberon, Lithgow, Meadow Flat and beyond, supporting churches in Thailand, and putting a stake in the ground as we build a home that will multiply the vision further.
We learn from Acts that multiplication begins with boldness in our own testimony, choosing the good news of Jesus above every other agenda, finding our fit in God’s kingdom, encouraging others, living generously, and committing to the journey. God’s heart is for all people to know Him, and He has made the way through Jesus. Our part is to carry it forward.

Jesus: The ultimate vision fulfilled
Monday Nov 17, 2025
Monday Nov 17, 2025
Everything begins with the finished work of Jesus. He has already solved humanity’s greatest need. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus restores the human soul, healing what anxiety, pressure, loneliness, grief, and shame have worn down.
Long before Jesus arrived, God promised through Ezekiel that He Himself would come as a true shepherd to seek the lost, bind up the injured, and strengthen the weak. In Jesus, that promise is fulfilled. He invites the weary to come to Him and find real rest, not as a distant idea but as a daily experience of walking with the Shepherd who brings peace, joy, and wholeness.
Psalm 23 shows us how to live in this restoration. We make the Lord our shepherd, we walk closely with Him, and we choose His paths even when they lead through difficult valleys. He is with us, guiding, comforting, and preparing a table of abundance in every season. His goodness and mercy pursue us, and our future is secure in Him.
This is the heart of our mission as Laneway Church. We are building a place where people can encounter the restoring love of Jesus as the shepherd who heals, leads, and changes lives.

Building Vision Together
Monday Nov 03, 2025
Monday Nov 03, 2025
This week we launched our LifeBuild month of Building Vision with Pastor Jeff sharing on 'Building Vision Together', a season to dream, pray, and build as a church family.
From the story of Nehemiah, we see how God stirs ordinary people with extraordinary purpose. When Nehemiah heard of Jerusalem’s broken walls, he wept, prayed, and then acted, gathering people from all walks of life to rebuild what was ruined. Goldsmiths, perfumers, priests, and families worked side by side. They faced mockery and opposition, but with faith and determination, they finished the wall in just 52 days because “the gracious hand of God was upon them.”
Like Nehemiah’s people, we are being called to build together, not just a physical home but a place where people can encounter Jesus, find refuge, and be transformed by His love. Our building vision is about creating a gateway for God’s presence in our city.
This month, we are inviting everyone to participate, pray, and pledge to help shape what the future of Laneway Church will look like. Together, we can build something that will bless generations to come.
“Let us rise up and build.” Nehemiah 2:18

What was I made right for?
Monday Oct 27, 2025
Monday Oct 27, 2025
Over the past month, we’ve discovered why we need to be made right with God, how we are made right through faith in Jesus, and what a made right life looks like. This week, Pastor Rowe wrapped up our Romans series by asking the next big question: What was I made right for?
From Romans 12 to 16, we see that being made right isn’t the end of the story, it’s the beginning of a new way of living. When we are made right, we are invited to live fully and freely in response to all that Jesus has done for us. This is life in its fullness, not a half-lived existence, but one shaped by worship, humility, love, and hope.
To live made right is to become a living sacrifice, offering every part of ourselves to God and allowing Him to transform the way we think and live. It’s a life of humility, where we serve others, respect authority, and encourage faith to grow without judgment. It’s a life of genuine love, not just words or sentiment, but practical care that shows up for others in need and overcomes evil with good. And it’s a life of hope, filled with joy and peace through the Holy Spirit, trusting that God’s plan is good and sharing that hope with the world around us.
We are made right to reflect Jesus: to live fully, love deeply, and carry His hope into every space we step into.
"Now all glory to God, who is able to make you strong, just as my Good News says. This message about Jesus Christ has revealed his plan for you Gentiles, a plan kept secret from the beginning of time. But now as the prophets foretold and as the eternal God has commanded, this message is made known to all Gentiles everywhere, so that they too might believe and obey him. All glory to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, forever. Amen." Romans 16:25-27

What does a made right life look like?
Monday Oct 20, 2025
Monday Oct 20, 2025
Last week we learned that through faith in Christ we are made right with God, not by what we do but by believing in what Jesus has done. This week, Pastor Jeff opened Romans 8, one of the most powerful chapters in Scripture, to ask: What does a made right life look like?
A made right life is marked by incredible privileges that are ours in Christ.
It’s a life without condemnation, where guilt no longer defines us.
It’s powered by the Spirit of God living inside us, giving us strength to live out what we believe.
It’s life as a child of God, adopted into His family now and forever.
It’s a life with help in weakness, where even when we don’t know how to pray, the Spirit intercedes for us.
And it’s a life that cannot be separated from His love; no power in heaven or earth can pull us from His grasp. Romans 8 reminds us that these are not distant promises.
They are gifts available to every believer today. To live a made right life is to live in freedom, power, and unshakable love.
"Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love, neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons. Nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

How can I be made right with God?
Monday Oct 13, 2025
Monday Oct 13, 2025
Last week we saw that humanity is both beautiful and broken, created in God’s image yet fallen from His design. This week, Pastor Jeff asked the crucial question: How can I be made right with God?
From the story of Abraham in Romans 4, we see that God’s way has never been about performance, reward, or moral perfection. While the world runs on “earn your worth,” Scripture tells us something radically different: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”
Faith is trust, the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things unseen. Like Abraham, we are made right with God not by what we do, but by believing in what Christ has done. This is the scandal and the wonder of the gospel: that through faith in Jesus, we are made right.
Jesus offers us more than religion. He offers relationship, peace, purpose, belonging, rest, and eternal life. And it all begins with faith.
“We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.” Romans 3:22

Why do I need to be made right?
Monday Oct 06, 2025
Monday Oct 06, 2025
The book of Romans is Paul’s masterpiece, a sweeping letter that maps the gospel with breathtaking clarity. This week, Pastor Jeff began our new series Made Right with the question: Why do I need to be made right?
From the grandeur of ancient Rome to the small, persecuted house churches where believers first gathered, we see that Paul wrote to a world not unlike ours. It was full of beauty and brokenness. Humanity is remarkable, yet deeply flawed. Scripture tells us, “No one is righteous, not even one.” We sense it too, in the violence of nations, in fractured relationships, even in our own hearts.
But Romans reveals something extraordinary: God has made a way. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. Not by performance or perfection, but through undeserved kindness. In Christ, what was fatally flawed at its core is restored and made new, made right, made whole.
This is the heart of the gospel. Through faith in Jesus, we are freed from striving and we are reconciled to God.

Why do we preach the Word?
Monday Sep 22, 2025
Monday Sep 22, 2025
In a world overflowing with information, from TED talks to podcasts, social media and streaming, we might ask why dedicate time each Sunday to preaching in the local church? Pastor Jeff reminded us that preaching is not just information but truth on fire: Spirit-empowered proclamation that calls us to know God and live for Him.
From Moses to Samuel, Jesus to Peter and Paul, Scripture shows that preaching has always carried both truth and exhortation. It not only explains God’s Word but urges us to respond, loving Him with all our heart, turning from idols, standing firm in Christ, and proclaiming the gospel.
This week, Pastor Jeff traced how the church has cherished preaching through history, from the prophets to the apostles, from the Reformation to today. Preaching in the local church is not about streaming in the world’s best communicators, but about God speaking through His Word, His Spirit, and His people here and now.
At the heart of all preaching is the gospel: that God created us in love, we turned away, but in Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, we are reconciled to Him. Through His death and resurrection, we are invited into eternal life and a restored creation. This is the message we carry, generation to generation, until Christ returns.

Why do we worship together?
Monday Sep 15, 2025
Monday Sep 15, 2025
Why do we worship together? It is more profound than singing songs on a Sunday. Worship is God’s design for His people. In worship we give ourselves to God through Christ, by the Spirit, and in the company of His church.
This week the Laneway Worship Team, Laura, Rhys, and Sharon, shared from Scripture and their own stories about the beauty and power of gathered worship. Drawing from Psalm 96, Hebrews 10, and Revelation 4-5, they reminded us that worship begins with God’s worthiness, not our feelings. As we lift our voices, we respond to His glory, we strengthen and encourage one another, and we proclaim to the world that the Lord reigns.
When we sing together, we are united in truth and witness, and we join with the eternal chorus of heaven. God’s presence is made real among us and we receive a foretaste of the day when Christ will return and all creation will worship Him forever.

Why do we raise the next generation in faith?
Monday Sep 08, 2025
Monday Sep 08, 2025
Raising the next generation in faith is not something we can leave to chance. Every day, children are being formed through school, screens, and culture, by stories that shape how they see the world. The question is, who is doing the forming?
In this week’s message, Pastor Jeff reminds us that parenting is more than running a household; it is discipleship. Drawing on Joshua 24:15, Deuteronomy 6:6–7, and Ephesians 6:4, he shows us how we can help shape the faith of the next generation. Parents and leaders are called to resolve the direction of their families, setting a clear spiritual course. Faith formation happens in the everyday, in conversations, routines, and life together, as we maximise every moment to point to God. Discipleship also means guiding with patience, truth, and encouragement, raising children to love the Lord.
Whether you are a parent, grandparent, youth leader, or part of the church family, we all play a role in passing on a living faith. As Pastor Jeff shared, “God works in families to raise a generation. Let’s be that church that raises the next generation with faith, courage, and love for Jesus.”
